Further 'No-deal' headaches outlined
Pressure group calls on expats in Spain to take part in confidential survey
Travellers between the UK and Europe could be hit hard.
BRITISH expats living in Spain are being asked to take part in a confidential survey testing how ready they are for Brexit - scheduled for March 29 next year.
Pressure group ECREU – Expat Citizen Rights in Europe – hopes people will join the online questionnaire to help gather information across the European Union.
Dave Spokes, one of the organisers, said: “We are trying to form a picture of preparedness, asking UK citizens if they have done anything in preparation for Brexit or a possible ‘no deal’."
Respondents will be asked to answer 25 simple questions.
“The data will be confidential," he said.
"Only the percentages (of answers) will be published.
"If people add a note, we may use it to illustrate people’s concerns, but only anonymously.
“However, if the note included a query we could help with, then we will reply to the respondent.”
People are asked to take a couple of minutes to answer the survey, which can be found at http://bit.ly/ecreusurvey.
Both the British government and the EU have made their own note - and ECREU has links to these and more information about the group, news and views on Brexit at its website www.ecreu.com.
The ECREU survey has been launched as further details of the potential risks a no-deal will have on expats have been revealed - see the following double-page spread on page 20 and 21.
