Teulada-Moraira Fishing Club

This week's competition was held on October 24 and was match number 7 of our winter league programme. On this occasion we fished A3 section of the river Jucar.

Water temperature was 19 degrees and conditions looked favourable, however the day's fishing turned out to be very patchy with a few members enjoying a reasonable catch while five members suffered dry nets. Unlike last week’s match the 'Up in the water' method of fishing – although tried by several members – proved to be completely ineffective with all fish caught on bottom, on the method feeder.

As we met in the bar in Favara the sky was overcast with broken cloud and a temperature of 15 degrees.

The match started at 9.50am, finishing at 2.50pm by which time the temperature had risen to 24 degrees.

The number of carp caught on the day was 26 for a total weight of 39.1kgs.

The match results were as follows:

1st Steve Hartwell (The Valencian) 9 fish, 13.27kgs,

2nd Jason Lawson 6 fish 10.97kgs,

3rd George Savell (The Gas Man) 5 fish, 6.3kgs,

4th Jeff Richards (The Trier) 2 fish 3.3kgs

5thRay Craig (The Heron) 2 fish, 2.22kgs,

6th Lawrie Drain (Gunner) 1 fish, 1.12kgs,

7th Graham Sewell (Sooty) 1 fish, 0.9kgs
