La Finca Golf Society

Last Monday’s game was postponed as La Finca was closed due to the bad weather.

On Wednesday, we played a Medal competition of the Yellow Blocks with the course still very wet after the heavy rain on Monday, results was as follows: 4th, Mick Elliot (73), 3rd Jerry Conybeare (73), 2nd, Brian Bevan (73) and 1st, Derek Braid (71). Nearest the pins were nobody (3), Mick Elliot (6), Mick Elliot (13) and Steve Higgins (16).

Good turnout for our Captains Day, the competition was Stableford of the Yellow Blocks due to the continuing maintenance of the Tee’s at La Finca, course still in good condition apart from a few bunkers.

Well done to Captain Barry Roehrig for the organisation with everyone winning a prize and thanks to Mick the Grip and La Finca golf for their sponsorship of some of the many prizes.

5th, Dave Friedman (33), 4th Urs Schurnburger (33) 3rd Mick Elliot (35), 2nd, Shaun Locke (36) and 1st, Jerry Conybeare also with (36).

Nearest the pins were Jerry Conybeare (3), Spencer Andrews (6), Eric Owens (13) and Shaun Locke (16).

Only one 2 today by Jerry on the 3rd hole fortunately hole 6 was drawn out so another rollover.

Best visitor today was Spencer Andrews. Best-dressed golfer today was Andrew Mills.

Back to The Corner Flag Bar afterwards for food and presentation thanks to Steve and his staff.
