Pego Golf Society
Team accumulator played at Oliva Nova on Tuesday January 29
It was a cold wind blowing over Oliva Golf Course for the latest competition hosted by Pego Golf Society. The format, which was team accumulator 2, 3, 4, was a welcome relief from the weekly drudgery of Medal and Stableford
We had 29 members and one guest playing today, and that one guest was Bob Seaton.
This format is a lot of fun, and usually is very close at the end of the day. This week was no exception, with the top three teams separated by only two points.
In 1st Place was the team of Ian Robertson, John Nicol, Colin Foster and Peter Cornes who amassed a total of 109 Points
In 2nd Place was the team of Shaun O’Gorman, Janet Jones, Jim Hayward, and Alan Barwick who totalled 109 Points by were defeated on count back
In 3rd Place was the team of Malcolm Wise, Roger Brown Mick Connelly and Bill Pike with a total of 107 Points. Well played everybody Nearest the Pin at Hole No 5 with his second shot was Malcolm Wise with 2.20 metres, and nearest the pin at Hole 16 with his tee shot was Steve Boyle with 7.3 metres. It was a gale blowing at this hole directly into us, so that is the reason that the distance from the pin was so large.
There were two 2’s today, one by Graham Borley and another by Shaun O’Gorman, but Graham did not put his money in the middle, so Shaun won the money from this week and last week, as it was a roll over.
Just to complete a mammoth day, Jan Jones won Balls in the Water with 107 Balls. Well done Jan, whom won this, the last time it was played.
