Thursday May 2Groups SHOWCASE Day

-

In place of our normal monthly General Assembly on Thursday May 2, the U3A Vall del Pop will be having a Showcase event where our Groups will put on displays and members and potential new members can find out about their activities, meeting dates, see the group leaders and possibly watch demonstrations before they can join up to what they like.

So if you think you might like to join the sewing and knitting team you can see what the Needle & Thread Group have been up to, or the types of furniture that are being reupholstered in the Upholstery Group, if you don’t know what is involved in Thai Chai there will be the group leaders and probably participants to talk you through it. The groups are many and varied – Card Making, Cake Decoration, Fine Dining, Wine Tasting and then the fitness related ones – Keep Fit, Mountain Walking, Dancing, Padel and many many more groups – even a Mens Group!!

In addition to tables, where groups will display their information, there will be live performances by U3A singing and dancing groups.

On the day there will be items sold / raffled to raise some for the U3A Goodwill Charity Fund – the charity will be selected from those charities nominated by members.

Members can also register for the May Treasure Hunt, four to a car with at least one U3A Vdp member – this event is expected to be oversubscribed so get in quick whilst there are still places.

TCET (the travel and entertainment team) will also be there to book forthcoming trips.

It is an excellent opportunity to find out what the U3A is all about and what the Vall del Pop association has on offer.
