Ancient Egypt from the Beginning!

The summer break is coming to an end and Egyptology is back in Jalon for U3A Vall del Pop members. Group leader, David Rohl – one of the world’s highest profile Egyptologists – has been persuaded to start his lecture series for 2019/20 right at the beginning of the Egyptology course, especially for all those who have joined the Ancient Egypt group in the last couple of years, part way through the series … and as a refresher course for those who were there from the start the first time around.

The first lecture will therefore be: ‘Seeing Through the Eye of Horus: Understanding the Landscape and Environment of Ancient Egypt’. Lots of interesting concepts to explore that hopefully will enable fans of Ancient World history to dig a little deeper into the philosophy and religion of those mysterious pharaohs.

The first meeting of the season will be on Monday, September 2 in Jalon Town Hall, starting at the usual time of 11 am. So, if you live within striking distance of Jalon and would like to attend, you are more than welcome to come along and get into ancient Egypt right at the beginning of this fascinating and visually stunning lecture series. David’s lectures are always fascinating, and his pictures give a clear insight to the skills and beauty of the ancient Egyptian world.

It sounds as if this could be interesting and stimulating chance to get in at the start of the intriguing world of ancient Egypt. Let’s get planning in readiness for the start of a new season of U3A experiences in the autumn.
