Teulada nominates two films for academy awards
The pathways lead to the coves of La Barraca, Sardinera and Cap Prim, and are popular with people wishing to explore Jávea’s coastline, with bicycle parking also being included in the upgrade.
The work is a joint project between the council’s tourism and works departments and aimed at opening the shoreline to sustainable use by visitors.
LAST Saturday, Teulada auditorium was the host to two important awards ceremonies, with two films being nominated for the Goyas, Spain's main national annual film awards.
Firstly, the importance of language and literature was revealed during the presentation of the ‘IV Vila de Teulada Prize for Youth Narrative’, which was awarded to the book 'Secrets' by Joan Torró, who took the €3,500 prize. The publisher of the book, Bromera, presented the prize to Torró whilst emphasising the importance of young people reading. All of those attending the ceremony received a signed copy of the book by the author from Ontinyent.
The second most important moment of the night was the awards ceremony of the “Curts de Moscatell” (short films), celebrating its fourth edition. The level of participation was noted as very good and contained outstanding works, two of them nominated for the Goya awards.
The main winner of the night was 'Pizza' by Iñaki Rekarte and Aitor de Kintana, who won the prize for the best short film, audience prize and best screenplay. The low budget film by two very young directors was said to be of excellent quality.
As for the rest of the awards in this film section, Dani Rebner won the award for the best short film in Valencia for 'Taro'; 'Die to return' by Javier Marco won the equality award. The prize for best acting went to Adriana Ozores for her role in 'Fin'; and the recognition of the best documentary went to Sergi Pitach for 'Helia'.
During the celebration, painting prizes were also prsented to Pepa Caselles, Blanca Hernando and Rubén M Riera. Finally, a research award was granted to María José Auñón. The award consists of a scholarship for the development of a research project over the following year. This event celebrated its 19th edition this year.
The gala ceremony was enlivened by a musical performance of Tramuntana.
