Jaguars on the prowl
Wednesday, October 16 was the day chosen by the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club (JEC) Costa Blanca to hold our next meeting, which was in the south.
Members of the club residing in the north travelled down the motorway to arrive at our meeting point on the car park of a bar-restaurant which we normally use as our coffee stop. After regrouping the line of cars, which included many different models and colours, they made an impressive sight across the car park.
Dennis Wilson handed out an information sheet informing members of the route we would be taking, just in case we lose someone along the way. This took us down country lanes and even alongside a canal, which didn’t have any barriers to protect one of the big cats in case they decided to take a quick dip - but fortunately they all behaved purr-fectly!
While passing a parked police car with an officer sat inside it, he politely acknowledged and waved to each vehicle that drove past him as he smiled in bewilderment wondering where they had just come from.
After driving through a number of very pretty Spanish villages, we finally arrived at our destination in Rojales then parked the big cats in a car park at La Marquesa Golf club, where more Jaguars had already arrived. Members then made their way to the clubhouse restaurant, where luncheon had been arranged for 65 members and their guests.
An enjoyable meal and refreshments were served by very pleasant staff, who went out of their way to accommodate all our requirements making it a super day of fun and laughter.
