A full house of members at our Murla General Assembly on November 7 took the opportunity of wishing our President, Bob Welham, a happy 70th Birthday with a rousing chorus of ‘Happy Birthday’. After his performance the previous week on his plastic trumpet a guitar, with The Entertainers – you have to wonder which “age” he has come to! He was later caught with his birthday cake – with racing car candles! Notwithstanding, congratulations Bob on finally reaching maturity – the downhill run starts from here.
Our General Assembly welcomed 13 new members to bring our numbers to 828 members for the year.

An association for English speaking people who are no longer in full-time work to provide other Monday at 2pm in Casa Claudia, in Jalon. Both groups, and the Yarn & Thread Group, which meets every second and fourth Monday at 11am in the Cappuccino Bar, in Orba, are actively looking for new members – so please go to our website and check the dates and register your interest with the Group Leader of whichever opportunities to learn and to share knowledge and skills with others. Many of the activities are also simply social with the aim of fostering a sense of community. The association meets every month on the last Wednesday (except July and August) at the Parador Hotel, Javea from 9:30 to 12:30. The main meeting starts at 11.00 and there is usually a guest speaker. The meeting ends about 12:30.

Montgo Chorale
Montgó Chorale has members from a range of nationalities and ages who come together under the baton of Musical Director Jan Dewland to rehearse and perform a range of choral works.
The choir has, through its many acclaimed concerts, raised considerable funds for local charities such as Caritas and the Convent Day Centre in Jávea which cares for the elderly and Alzheimer's sufferers.
