Knitted Knockers

For any woman that has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and has to undergo, or has had reconstructive surgery, this can be a very welcome and much appreciated solution to the standard issue prosthesis. ‘Knitted Knockers' is a lightweight alternative which is hand knitted using 100% mercerised cotton yarn with non-allergic filling and provided free with the aim of helping women through an emotionally and physically stressful period. There are currently over 500 Knitted Knocker groups in 30 different countries and one right here on the Costa Blanca – based in Javea.

It is run by Annette Bowen and supported by MABS Cancer Support, but she needs more ladies to volunteer to knit.

All materials – wool, patterns etc will be provided – all that is required is your time and skill, of what is sadly a diminishing think it’s true, if you stay fully immersed in the water, it’s a lot warmer...apparently.
