Pego Golf Society

-

Results of the Stableford singles competition held in Oliva Nova Golf on Tuesday January 7

The new decade kicked off with a good turnout 32 players for the Society, and we had three guests Ruth Shaffer, Glen Morgan and Georgie Turner, we hope they enjoyed playing with Pego and will see them again.

The competition was a Stableford singles competition, so an easy introduction to the New Year. The weather was really good, after a chilly start the sun came out and some of the golf was outstanding.

Balls in the water was a roll over no one guessed this week that 70 balls went into the water.

In the twos it was remarkable, seven people had twos, with Liz Grin being very greedy and getting two – well done Liz, others were Susie Snelling, Steve Patton, Georgie Turner, Celia Cronin, Stella Fox and Paul Sankey. Nearest the pins went to Donna Green 1.97m, second shot on hole 5 and Susie Snelling 0.3m on hole 16. Division 2 winners were: 1st Fiona Sankey with a massive 42 points,

2nd Roy Jones with points, 38

There was only a small turnout for Division 2 this week so no third prize.

Division 1 had a strong turnout so we allocated six prizes to this division this week

1st Paul Sankey with 39 points (the Sankey household did well this week!)

2nd Susie Snelling 37 points, 3rd Nigel Siddall 36 points, 4th Simon Fox 35 points 5th Mick Farmer 35 points 6th Steve Patton 35 points The last three positions were determined on count back.

Next week, we shall be playing a 4,3,2 game in teams, and it is the Captain’s Drive In, so please make every effort to come along and watch our new Captain drive into history.
