On December 27, a woman reported at the Guardia Civil station in Novelda that her daughter, a minor, had possibly been subject to sexual abuse for four months.
Apparently, an adult man, who her daughter did not know, had been compelling her to send him photographs and videos of sexual content, as well as to carry out video calls of the same nature.

The victim's smartphone was analysed in detail to reThe cover the files with sexual content, as they were essential to the case.
Finally, on the morning of January 10, officers from Novelda's Guardia Civil investigation team travelled to Valencia, to arrest the alleged perpetrator at his home.
However, this proved not to be an easy task, as upon entering his home, a member of the perpetrator's family resorted to violence placing himself between the officers and the offender, to prevent them from physically removing the culprit from his home.
alleged perpetrator of sexual abuse was finally arrested along with the other occupant of the home who was charged with resisting police authority.
The culprit's mobile phone was also seized, as it is a fundamental piece of evidence in the investigation. Officers also checked the phone to see if other minors had been subject to a similar type of abuse and had not reported it to police.
The alleged perpetrator was sent in front of a judge at Valencia's number 9 Court of Instruction, but was later released pending further court proceedings.
The other man, charged for resisting police authority, was released by the Guardia Civil after giving a statement in presence of his lawyer.
