New Chair for the Costa Blanca Mountain Walkers
After serving nine years as Chairperson for the Costa Blanca Mountain walkers Carol Harbach is handing over the baton to the very capable hands of Veronica Dunkley.
Carol is the seventh and longest serving chairperson since the CBMW group began in 1987. Prior to being chair Carol also served 8 years as secretary and has also lead many walks.
Carol said ’During 20 years I have seen a lot of great changes to the growth of the group and number of walks. I have taken great pride in being the custodian of the culture of the group following the pioneers and I am very confident Veronica will do the same. Over the years the secretariat has had so many members offering a wealth of skills I couldn’t be more lucky to have worked with these people and I have loved every minute’. Carol has been supported by husband David who has served alongside her as Treasurer. New chair Veronica’s husband Martin is taking over the roles of Treasurer and Secretary.
The Costa Blanca mountain walkers are very grateful to Carol and David for the many years of dedicated service they have given to the group.
At her final meeting as chair Carol was presented with a painting of the Montgo mountain.
The Costa Blanca Mountain walkers are an informal group of enthusiastic people who enjoy walking in the sierras of the Costa Blanca.
