LA NUCIA 11 WALK FOR CANCER

Feb 9: La Nucia will be holding their 11th Walk against Cancer in conjunctio­n with two cancer charities – AECC National Spanish Cancer charity and Anemona.

The 5km walk will start from the car park of the Camino Cano Sports centre at 10:30am and head to the CEM ecological centre in El Captivador - the town hall will be providing a bus to take people back to the start point – please note dogs are not allowed onboard.

Volunteers will be selling raffle tickets for 3€ at both the start and finish points – with the draw taking place at 12 noon.

TRAINING FOR THE FRONT LINE

Javea Red Cross is running a course offering volunteers training for front line emergencie­s - first aid and life saving.

Places are limited for the course that runs from February 28 until April 18 with students divided into two groups. Experience­d profession­als will be instructin­g the groups who will learn safe water rescue techniques and how to handle lifethreat­ening health emergencie­s. People interested in learning the skills and qualifying to work in the field can request informatio­n at the Red Cross headquarte­rs in Javea old town or by calling 96 579 1961 between 09.30 and 13.30.

VALENCIA FAMILY TOURS

EVERY SATURDAY: Take in the sights and history in a fun way with the Valencia Family Tours. Aimed at showing families with children around the city, the tour includes games and activities to make sure attendees learn about the great Valencia landmarks while having fun.

The tours are available in English, Spanish and Italian and start at 18.00 until September, and then at 17.00 the rest of the year. Prices range from €10 for single adults to €32 for large families.
