Mind the Union Gap

- By Jack Troughton

The popular sound of Union Gap ensured a full house in Moraira and a successful night for promoters Teulada Moraira Lions.

Espai La Senieta was filled by music lovers for the return of Gez Rogers’ four-piece maestros and a night packed with entertainment.

The evening was kicked off by a short set of Buddy Holly tracks by Gary Woodward of the Union Gap. With a mix of hits from the 50s & 60s, Gary got the audiences' toes tapping with songs including Oh Boy !, That'll Be The Day & Peggy Sue.

Joined on stage by the rest of the band, Union Gap entertained the audience with musical tributes to stars such as Frankie Valli, Roy Orbison & The Hollies. The four-piece band including keyboard, drums, bass and lead guitars plus great vocals delighted the audience with hits including Young Girl, Sherry, Pretty Woman, Bend Me Shape Me.

It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Union Gap back. They never fail to deliver a high standard, professional performance & it is due to this that the audience keeps coming back for more.

TM Lions would like to thank Union Gap, the staff at Espai La Senieta and all those who attended the concert. All funds raised will go to support those in need through the donations TM Lions give to a number of organisations & individuals.

The next Lion's concert is the Desperados who will be on stage to provide an evening of hits by the Eagles.

Tickets are already sold out for this performance, but tickets are available for The Gipsy Kings Experience on March 21. See seperate article for further details.
