Marina Alta Golf

-

On Monday February 17 at the Oliva Nova course, 12 members (reduced from 16 due to the last minute drop outs) and guests of Marina Alta Golf Society played a single stableford game on another beautiful morning for playing golf. The course still recovering from Storm Gloria was not in its normal prime condition but this is understandable given the damage caused by the storm. While a lot of the Costa Blanca North was blanketed with thick fog this morning which caused some delays, the Olive Nova course had nice warm sunshine with no fog in sight.

In 1st place was Barry Woodcock with a score of 35 points off a 30 handicap. Not a regular of late to the winner’s chair but I understand Barry has been practising hard at another course where your short game is most important which seemed to have paid off today, so well-done Barry and welcome back.

In 2nd place is Keith Sinden with 32 points off a 20 handicap. Keith was also in 2nd place last week. Come on Keith just a little push harder will do it.

In 3rd place was guest Alan

Lowans with 31 points off a 32 handicap. Understand Alan enjoyed his game as well as the course and maybe back playing with us shortly.

There was no 2s today and for NTP, on hole 3 was no takers, hole 5 in 2 shots was guest Alan Lowans while Paul Fraser was the winner at hole 16, well done to all.

The Marina Alta Golf Society is a small but friendly group of players who play every Monday at the Oliva Nova course with the first tee time being about 10.40. If you want to join this friendly group of golfers as a guest, then a warm welcome will be waiting for you.
