Results of the individual stableford held in Oliva Nova Golf on Tuesday February 18

Not the best day to be out on the course, a very damp start put a few people off so we had a reduced field of 22 players. The ones who went home missed a good day, whist the sun didn’t shine there was no rain. The course is improving week on week so well done the greens staff. This was a competition with one difference over a normal stableford. The men played off the red tees and the women played off the blue tees, which made it quite interesting. Despite a shorter course for the men and a longer one for the women, with the handicaps adjusted accordingly there were no really high point’s scores. Today’s winners were:

1st place –Steve Crossan – 35 points (Winning streak for Steve he also won last week’s competition).

2nd place – Roy Jones – 33 points, 3rd place – Peter Cornes – 31 points, 4th place – Susie Snelling – 31 points, 5th place – Celia Cronin – 31 points.

Both nearest the pin prizes this week went to John Snelling, hole 5 his second shot finishing 3.24m from the pin, and on hole 16 with his tee shot finishing 2.32m from the pin. Well done John.

No balls in the water or twos this week.

Next week’s competition is a four ball Texas Scramble.
