Valldigna Golf

A big thank you to all those that turned up for our monthly game at La Galiana.

We would still like to see more of you as you know numbers are all important. What a fantastic day a little cold to start with a so called light breeze but Mike Clarkson and myself were the only ones to brave the weather and wear shorts from the outset. As you all know they were hollow tining the front nine so we had to play the back nine twice.

The nearest the pins and longest drives still came into play we just had to sort out which holes.

The par threes were only played on the first round and didn’t come into play on the second round. As the day progressed it became a beautiful spring day, no wind, warm but not too hot so perfect conditions which matched the teeing off areas and greens. I always think that the back nine is much more attractive than the front but just as demanding.

This was obviously not the case as the number of lost balls recorded was way down (38 in total). This means we are either getting better or some people are forgetting to put down the number of balls lost but either way it’s a roll over for our next game. Our winners this month were Alex Henderson with 35 points off 26: second 30 points off 18 and third Phil Holmes with 29 points off 18. The nearest the Pins went to Carl Randall on Holes 14 and 16 and Mike Clarkson on Hole 15. The Longest Drives went to Ralph Borthwick off the yellow tees and Phil Holmes off the blue tees.
