Rojales' coronavirus response

-

Rojales town hall has set up a local operations coordination centre (CECOR) to handle all matters related to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

This is made up of mayor Antonio Pérez; the councillors for health, Charo López and works and services, Jesús Martínez; local police chief Iñaki Esparza; Protección Civil; Guardia Civil; and the management of Rojales health centre. An information service has been set up for residents with any questions about the state of emergency, who can call 609 642 448 or email cecor@rojales.es

Sr Pérez gave thanks for the ‘effort, responsibility and collaboration being shown by practically all of the municipality’s residents’, who he said are ‘more than complying with the instructions to not go outside, amongst other measures’. The CECOR is intended to facilitate cooperation and coordination between the local police and the state security forces, as well as basic and essential services, all coordinated by the mayor, explained a town hall spokesperson. It will meet at least once a day and put out a daily report which will be emailed to the office of the national government in the region, with information about contagions among police officers, and actions it has carried out or which are underway on the orders of the health or judicial authorities (notifications, quarantine/isolation measures, etc.). The CECOR also covers security measures to guarantee the functioning of essential services and compliance with the state of emergency.
