Production of cleaning products goes into overdrive
PRODUCTION lines at a Costa Blanca factory have shifted up into overdrive to get a range of cleaning products to the public in the coronavirus emergency.
The Jávea-based company Pons Quimicas distributes the Asevi brand supplies items for household cleaning, hygiene and disinfectant to outlets across Spain and has stepped up output to meet public demand in the crisis.
And the production of its disinfectants has soared by 20 times as a workforce of around 100 - all taking precautions against the killer coronavirus - step up to the mark.
The Asevi brand’s motto is 'everything starts at home’, a mantra that also applies to the battle against Covid-19 with people urged to stay at home during the lockdown to prevent the spread of disease in the pandemic.
Disinfectant 'eliminates' the virus from surfaces in the home and the company is focussing on the disinfectants, manufacturing 120 tonnes a week in an effort to guarantee supply.
Head of marketing Inma Ferrer said: “Right now, our highest priority is focussed on supplying our customers to respond to the needs of the population at a time when it is necessary to raise hygiene levels in our homes.”
She said the company thanked its employees, suppliers and customers for the 'great effort' they were making - and expressed its solidarity with 'those affected by Covid19; health personnel, and to the entire population in general'.
