A s the P remier L eag ue and A lfaz F antasy F ootball L eag ue tak es a break due the dreaded coronav irus outbreak , let's rev iew what has happened so far in the 2 6 th A .F .F .L .

W ith just ov er a q uarter of the season left it's fair to say, all the main leag ues with the ex ception of our C hampion of C hampions L eag ue and possible our M ark C arter L adies S ection hav e been v ery competitiv e. In our main leag ue, sev en different teams hav e made their way to the top spot in the first three q uarters of the season. T he present leaders, W ade's A lli B arber took top place eig ht week s ag o from C hris's team P romotion A g ain who had been at the fore-front for 1 0 week s, after tak ing ov er from K apur's Napali E lev en, who hav e recently slipped down to 6 th. T ony R ed's team, M iles P latting S wifts were flying hig h at the top in the first two week s of the season before g iv ing way to two of our lady manag ers' teams - J ayne's U p the D ale and Isobel's team T he B luebells both had a brief one week stay at the top along with K eith's team M ax & P addy. A nyone of the top ten teams could win our cov eted trophy. A lli B arber has a v ery narrow 1 3 point adv antag e ov er P romotion A g ain folowed by T erry's H annak ins(3 rd) and S imon's W olv es will T weet U (4 th).

T he J unior L eag ue has been dominated by two teams, H arley's G ing er Ninjar who hav e been top of the T ree for the last nine week s and at the moment they are 2 6 points ahead of L uca's L uck y R ed F .C . R obbie's P iq ue B linders (g reat name) and S anta C lara K ick ers are both well in contention to break up the monopoly.

D ebbie's F ox y F ilberts hav e a v ery stong g rip of our M ark C arter L adies S ection with a 5 7 point cushion ov er L iz 's C ook ies C rew 6 1 . Isobel's B luebells spent 7 week s at the top before g iv ing way to A nnette's H airnette who at one time had a 1 9 point lead at the top but sadly hav e now plummeted to 1 1 th spot.V icepreside­nt X I and U p the D ale also tasted life at the top but unfortunat­ely both hav e fallen by the wayside.

In our A cross the C osta's G olden B oot L eag ue, competitio­n has been fierce with no fewer than nine teams contesting for the number one spot. In the early part of the season it was lik e musical chairs at the summit with six teams, M iles P latting S wifts, U p the D ale, V ote for P edro, A thletico H ig g o, L uck y R ed F .C . and S howbiz all attempting to claim the top spot but since the early season scramble M artin's M arauders, P romotion A g ain and P ompey H ammers hav e all led the way. C atherine's P ompey H ammers are in pole position at the moment with a 1 5 point g ap between them and L aurel & V ardy. B ill's E ast F ifers hav e forced their way into the top 3 leav ing M artin's M arauders and P romotion A g ain trailing .

W ade's A lli B arber are the L iv erpool of this season's F antasy L eag ue has they romped away with our C hampion of C hampions L eag ue with an incredible 1 4 5 point lead ov er M artin's M arauders. O nly four teams hav e topped this section and they are M acca's A lbir V illains (3 week s) P auline's V odk a A rmy (1 week ), M ax & P addy (5 week s) and M artin's M arauders (6 week s).

O ur F .A . C up L eag ue didn't start till J anuary, when D av e's team P atang yang k ipperbang (try saying that after a few pints) was the early leaders, before S hawn's T hrummy's C ool and M ark 's Inter R ubber both had a one week spell at the top. C urrently, T erry's C ould it be T his Y ear hav e a slig ht 1 0 point adv antag e ov er T reble W ithout A pplause.

T he six teams lik ely to be awarded the W ooden S poon at the end of the season are B ob's team T he S trik ers (M ain L eag ue), G il's K ippax or H andbrak e C ity (L adies L eag ue), B oden B oys (J unior L eag ue), T ory B oys U nited (G olden B oot L eag ue), G il's K ippax or L una's L iv er B irds (C hampions L eag ue) R ous R eus and D yson D C 1 1 (F .A . C up L eag ue).

T he hig hest score so far this season is 1 0 3 amassed by B entley B oys while the lowest score g oes to K yle's A ll S tars with a neg ativ e minus 5 .

T he P remier L eag ue has so far prov ided the A .F .F .L . with 9 3 7 g oals, 1 6 9 clean sheets, 1 1 1 8 yellow cards and 3 4 red ones. T here has also been 2 9 own g oals most of them coming from C helsea, W atford and B rig hton 3 each. P enalties awarded were 7 1 of which 1 6 were missed, the two M anchester C lubs, C ity & U nited both missed four each, U nited also won the most penalties with a total of 11 while their neig hbours, C ity, were awarded 8 . T he only team not to be g iv en a penalty in the P remier L eag ue is E v erton.

T op k eeper so far in this season's F antasy is M anchester U nited's on loan to S heffield U nited H enderson with 8 3 points, 6 more than L eicester C ity's K asper S cheichel. T he two most selected k eepers, L iv erpool's A lisson and M anchester C ity's E derson, were not in the top 3 .

L iv erpool players dominated the defensiv e positions with A lex ander A rnold rattling up 1 2 0 points. F ellow team mate V irg el V an D ijk was closest with a tally of 1 0 6 points. O ne of the best barg ains in this section is L eicester C ity's attack ing fullback R icardo P ereira selected by sev en F antasy manag ers and is in 3 rd place.

T wo L iv erpool players are also top of the mid-field positions with M o S alah 9 points ahead of M ane. T he nearest player to them is M anchester C ity's K ev in D e B ruyne.

T op strik er and also top F antasy L eag ue player so far this season is L eicester C ity's dynamic g oal machine J amie V ardy with a g rand tally of 1 6 2 points which is 1 8 points abov e his nearest challeng er M o S alah with 1 4 4 . A g uero & A ubameyang are both in second place in the strik ers list.

M o S alah is top scorer in our G olden B oot L eag ue his team mate M ane is in 2 nd place with V ardy and A g uero in 3 rd & 4 th place. D on't forg et points scored in this section are as follows 1 0 points for a defender scoring , 7 points for a mid fielder and 5 points for a forward.
