- By Alex Watkins awatkins@cbnews.es

DIRECT aid of €750 or €1,500 for self-employed people, if they have stopped trading or whose income has dropped due to the state of emergency, was approved by the regional government on Friday.

Vice-president Mónica Oltra said they have allocated a total of €57.5 million for this measure, which will be distributed through Labora, the Valencia region employment service.

Furthermore, the regional finance institute (IVF) is contributing €17 million to the reciprocal guarantee society (SGR) for bank guarantees to self-employed workers so that they can obtain loans to help cover their need for liquidity and investment. Other measures included an extension to the deadlines for paying taxes such as inheritances and donations, and transferral of assets and stamp duty.

Also, tenants were exempted from having to present the self-assessment (or reverse charge mechanism) for transferral of assets and stamp duty for the rental of their primary residence.

A virtual assistant called Carina GVA has been set up by the regional government to make it easier to answer questions to economic and employment questions relating to the state of emergency.

This is on the eco nomy department website of FAQs about the crisis: www.indi.gva.es/es/preguntes-i-respostes-frequents

It is in addition to the helpline 900 35 31 35, which dealt with 6,819 calls since it opened on March 16 up to March 30.

The regional employment service also has advice available via email to labora@gva.es, as well as two WhatsApp lines and social networks with the tag: @GvaLabora.
