Dénia hospital gets donations from over 100 societies, people, companies and celebrities

-

Dénia hospital has passed on its heartfelt thanks to the 100-plus charities, clubs, societies, companies, individuals and associations that have made donations over the last few weeks – so many, in fact, that the area health department has had to set up a central email address to channel them all: desarrollo.corporativo@ marinasalud.es.

This can be used to contact the hospital by anyone planning to donate to them. Staff have received everything from protective clothing and equipment to vitamins and energy food, and even mobile phones and tablets for patients in isolation to use to contact their friends and family. One of the most high-profile campaigns is the #ProtejamosANuestrosHéroes (let's protect our heroes), launched by Déniabased motor dealership Moll Autos.

As well as raising funds for protective equipment, they have donated 1,000 units of a vitamin supplement used by sports people that protects the immune system and helps fight fatigue, which is destined for hospital staff to help them keep going in their battle to save lives.

Some of these have also been sent to Gandia hospital.

Moll Autos has managed to get sports celebrities on board: Valencia CF's Jaume Costa, tennis player Pablo Andújar, Dakar Rally driver Cristina Gutiérrez, Formula E engineer Toni Cuquerella, Levante UD women's team player Paula Tomás, Valencia CF women's player Ana Vallés, and motocross freestyle rider Pedro Moreno.

Famous names from the arts world who the dealership has signed up include singer Carlos Tarque, fashion photographer Víctor Cucart, and the lead singer of rock band Los Zigarros, Ovidi Tormo. Chef Manuel Alonso, the national teacher of the year award winner for 2018, Manu Velasco, and the head of Gandia's Fallas federation, Telmo Gadea have also joined in. Within the first 24 hours of setting up the #ProtejamosANuestrosHéroes campaign, the stars had helped to raise over €4,000.
