Big cats back on the prowl

- By Sandra Brook

IT is with great pleasure to be able to say that JECCosta Blanca put on a display of Jaguars at the Mercadillo del Toro in Pilar de la Horadada on August 30, and also held a club event on the September 16.

The club event saw a group of members run together from Albir in the north of Alicante to join members from the south at a meeting point in Torrellano.

Then, once refreshed and regrouped they proceeded on a run with 15 highly polished big cats growling with pleasure as they left their meeting point, and eventually purring along contentedly while proudly displaying their magnificence as they ran in convoy heading for Agost.

Agost is a village famous for pottery making, which is situated in the mountains of Alicante. This year’s run did not include a visit to a potters, to watch live traditional pottery making, because of the virus restrictions

It was a good day with a good run, which was enjoyable in the lovely sunshine and even after a little hiccup when some frisky cats missed the restaurant and carried on around the roundabout. Mike Mr President soon had them slinking their way back to join the group of cats that were lined up outside the restaurant Don Camilo .

We had four tables for 10 people per table, which is the maximum, so after removing the compulsory face masks we were able to enjoy our meal while warmly welcoming four new members and their partners to the Costa Blanca region of the Jaguar Enthusiasts Club.
