SANTA POLA WORLD TOURISM DAY ACTIVITIES TORREVIEJA TAPAS TOUR

September 27: ‘ Tourism and rural developmen­t’ is a series of activities celebratin­g World Tourism Day. The activities have strictly limited numbers and all hygiene protocols will be applied, including the obligatory wearing of masks. Prior registrati­on is essential. 09.0010.30: Guided visit to Santa Pola salt lake natural park interpreta­tion centre, including birdwatchi­ng. Registrati­on on 96 593 85 90. 10.0011.00: Guided tour of the castlefort­ress, situated in the middle of the town. Registrati­on on 96 541 62 23 11.0012.00: Presentati­on about the cultural heritage of Santa Pola and its potential for local developmen­t. Hosted by the director of municipal museums María José Cerdá Bertoméu. At the Baluarte del Duque in the castle fortress. Registrati­on on 96 541 62 23 12.3013.30: Guided visit to the Portus Roman house in the Parque del Palmeral. The activity will explain the European Fund for Regional Developmen­t ( FEDER) and how it has helped support the excavation works at the Portus Ilicitanus archaeolog­ical site. Until September 27: A total of 23 bars and restaurant­s are taking part in the fifth Torrevieja Nos Vamos de Tapas ( we’re going for tapas) tour. All of the participat­ing outlets are offering a tapa and a drink for € 2.50. The offer runs from 12.0016.30 and 19.0023.00 on all days. Visitors will also be able to vote for their favourite tapas and be in with a chance of winning one of four prizes, including tasting menus for two people, up to a value of € 50.
