Pilar youth sex advice service

- By Barry Wright

THE PILAR de la Horadada town hall departments for youth and equality have launched a new advice service for the municipality’s young residents.

In promoting the service the town hall notes ‘emotions and sexuality have undoubted relevance during adolescence and youth because of the new needs that arise with both elements and the constant challenges they present’.

The service is aimed at people aged from 12-30 years who have ‘doubts about relationships, sexuality, orientation and gender identity – as well as those who have suffered misunderstanding, discrimination and bullying as a result of it’.

Councillor for equality Susi Sánchez explained: “The service is also available to parents who require information about their child’s psychosocial development and relationships.”

Councillor for youth Nieves Moreno added: “This is a project that takes the form of health promotion and aims to promote and strengthen the possibilities of preventing (uncertainty or marginalisation) in many of the young people in the municipality.”

The service is available every Tuesday and Thursday from 10.00-12.00, and the first Saturday of each month from 09.00-13.00.

Individuals or couples will be attended to, either in person or by telephone, by the psychologist and equality advocate, Paca Ponce.

Appointments are available through the youth department who can be contacted by telephone on 96 676 77 99, WhatsApp at 652 216 621 or by email to juven tud@pilardelahoradada.org

Online consultations are also possible at bit.ly/asex oríaconsultaonline

The service is anonymous, confidential and free.
