PHOTOGRAPHERS capture lockdown through a lens with a series of pictures on show in Calpe in a new exhibition.

As the anniversary of Spain’s state of alarm being sounded approaches, 43 photos are on show at the old town hall, the Ajuntamiento Vell, now an exhibition hall.

Photography club El Foto Club Ifac and Calpe town hall have come together to illustrate the challenges of confinement; the pictures featured have been narrowed down from an initial field of 273.

Under the title '40 days, 40 photos', they can be viewed until the end of the month and are gathered from a selection posted on social media by club members who had been set a daily theme.

The resulting images show people using both imagination and creativity to help cope with the pandemic from their homes.

THE ALFAZ Fantasy Football League was back with a bang last week, with the average score shooting up to a high of 33 points after last week’s lowly average being under 20. Clean sheets were the order of the day with the highest number so far this season of 14. Once again there was to lots of Premier League fixtures going into the mix which produced for the A.F.F.L. a total of 27 goals, 14 clean sheets, 36 yellow cards and one red one which was Sheffield United's Phil Jagielka who was dismissed by referee Bobby Jones in the Blades' much needed 1-0 win against Aston Villa.

Although it was a high scoring week there was no change at the top of our top four divisions. Clara's Babes maintained their position at the summit of our Main League with a comfortable 44 point lead over the much improved Milton Keynes F.C. who moved up two places to 2nd. Aggies XI held on to 3rd while Carol's Sky Blues slipped down to 4th. As mentioned last week Chris's Magpies Forever edged closer to the top threee moving up another place to 5th. Down at the foot of the table, Len's Do

Better are still under the cosh 24 points away from Dave's Bogtrotters Rerun.

The Junior League has been done and dusted since Christmas with Clara's Babes runaway winners. Four teams are jostling for the runners-up spot and they are William and Henry Two (2nd), Balotellitubbies (3rd), Alisson Wonderland (4th) and Ginger Ninja (5th). Only 5 points between them. Not quite the same story at the bottom with Olly's 11 falling 66 points adrift of Andrew's Dolphins.

Sky Blues may have dropped down in the Main League but their advantage at the top of our Mark Carter ladies section is a very substantial 65 points over Karen's Ceasar's Blackcats. The situation at the other end of the table is quite different with Sandra's Scorers only 3 points behind Nikki's team Liverpool 94.

Our most competitive League is the Golden Boot with last season's winners Old Salfordians holding on to a slight 6 point cushion over Patangyangkipperbang (it's easy for you to say). Catherine's Pompey Hammers and Lee's Athletico Higgo are in 3rd and 4th place. Len's team Do Better are going for a double drop as they are over the trap door in this section as well as the Main League, currently they have a deficit of 10 points with Barry's team Armanello.

Our top scoring team is Darren's Finestrat Reds who bagged 74 points thanks to his Manchester United defenders who collected 35 of them. Craig's Leeds, Leeds got the lowest score of 7 points mainly because most of his team were playing Monday night. Both will be the first to go into the hat for our March monthly wine draw.

Finestrat Reds have taken the lead at the top of our manager of the month for March with a 11 point gap opening between them and Dave's Pepe F.C.Chris's Magpies Forever could steal the top spot given half a chance as they are lurking in 3rd place.

The three replays in our K.O. Cup took place which resulted in Tony's Boulevard Blues beat Winnie's Le Hombre Rioja 50-14, Noddy Napals knocked out Kerry's Penfold Puffins 33-25 and Brian's Bronte Village saw off Sick Note by 54 - 37.

The draw for the next round will soon be up on our website along with all the latest news and results.
