A CHAPTER of an outlaw motorcycle club allegedly involved in drug dealing has been disbanded by the Guardia Civil in Alicante province.
Officers have rounded up 10 suspects – seven men and three women of Lithuanian, Serbian and Dutch nationalities – who belonged to a branch of the biker club Satudarah, according to a spokesman for the force.
Searches were carried out of seven properties in Villajoyosa, La Nucía, Alfaz del Pi and Altea, from where officers seized 7,371 cannabis plants, 31 kilos of marijuana in buds, and five kilos of the drug which had already been shredded and bagged for sale.
A drone, a frequency inhibitor, a replica firearm, €5,000 in cash, six motorcycles and seven cars were amongst the other assets seized by the Guardia Civil officers. The suspects had been based in the province for around four years and the proceeds from crime were their only source of income, said the spokesman.
They grew indoor marijuana plantations and sold the drugs themselves, he stated.
The Satudarah club was founded in the Netherlands town of Moordrecht in 1990, and named after the Indonesian words for ‘one blood’, the spokesman noted.
The suspects formed their own chapter with its own recognisable insignia, which they wore on their jackets along with a ‘1%’ badge to indicate that they were members of an ‘outlaw’ motorcycle club, the spokesman explained.
Many of its members have been convicted by the Dutch authorities of offences such as assaults, homicides and possession of weapons.
The organisation was banned there in 2018, added the spokesman.
