Droned off!: Over the years we’ve seen football matches called off through rain, snow, fog, mist, high winds and Covid-19 but never by a drone. That all changed last Saturday when the Brentford-Wolves Premiership game was held up for 15 minutes due a drone flying over the ground. Police told the referee to take the players off the pitch for safety reasons as helicopters arrived on the scene to sort things out, as it was too near to Heathrow Airport.
