Alfaz Fantasy Football League

- By Eric Malpus

Week 21

THERE were three midweek games and a full Premier League at the weekend, which gave Alfaz Fantasy Football League a total of 30 goals, seven clean sheets, 39 yellow cards and no reds.

Sarah's team Lucy's Luck became the sixth team to reach the summit of the AFFL this season by knocking Gen's XI off the top spot. Gen's XI had been at the top for the last five weeks. Sarah's lead is only 7 points but she became our third lady manager to top the league, following in Debbie and Kerry's footsteps. There is no change at the bottom with The Invincibles trailing Mason United by 35 points.

The Junior League is going the same way as last season, with one team running away with it, this time William & Henry Two has a formidable 65 point advantage over his brother’s team William & Henry 3. Ginger Ninja is in third place, while Cody's team Popscityblue are struggling to keep up the pace the front-runners. Bailey's team Bez Boys are slowly catching up with Clara's Hotshots at the bottom and are just 17 points adrift.

Lucy's Luck have also moved to the top of the Mark Carter Ladies League by taking a 10 point lead over Kerry's Penfold Puffins. Down at the foot of the table, Taminori Tykes are showing no signs of improvement, as they are 19 points away from Lil's Pint & Potato. The Golden Boot League is bubbling up nicely as we head toward the end of the season. Currently only 17 points separate the top 6 teams. Alberto's Ninjas are in pole position, then comes Kloppers & Robbers, and Foxy Filberts who are chasing hard on their heels. We have a new team over the trap door as John's team Fantastic Blues are one point behind Mason United at the bottom.

William & Henry 3 have won our Manager of the Month for January, which means they will have a nice meal for two at The Church in Albir.

The top team this week was The Yellow Bentine who bagged 66 points, while at the other end of the scale Fuzzy Flyers got the lowest score of a big fat zero. On the bright side both teams will go into the monthly wine draw.
