Guardia Civil break up illegal ‘rave’
GUARDIA CIVIL officers have evicted an unauthorised party involving more than 20 people, in an isolated area of Benissa.
During the operation that took place to break up the event on January 22, a 33-year-old man of Ecuadorian nationality was arrested and charged with an alleged crime against public health (drug trafficking), explained a spokesman for the force.
Moraira Guardia Civil officers set in motion the operation to close it down after being made aware of the celebration of this macro-party. Several patrols from different units of the Guardia Civil and two from the
Benissa local police went to the scene of the incident, managing to evict the attendees and prevent the entry of more people who wanted to join the rave.
There, officers found several trucks along the road, as well as a soundbar and large loudspeakers placed on a stage, all inside a tunnel. In addition, they observed numerous people gathered there with clear signs of having consumed alcohol and narcotic substances.
The man was arrested when officers proceeded to identify those present. On searching one of the vehicles, which was in an isolated spot, a man was found inside who was already a repeat offender in attending unauthorised parties and peddling drugs.
During the search, different types of narcotic substances such as amphetamines and methamphetamines and €170 in small notes were found, and the owner of the vehicle was arrested.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of a Denia court, which ordered his release with precautionary measures.
At the end of the operation, the officers took charge of a safe and orderly evacuation due to the fact that the people attending were in a state of inebriation and showing clear symptoms of having consumed drugs, according to the Guardia Civil.
