ARC animal charity appeal

-

CONTINUED Covid restrictions have made it difficult to organise any fundraising events for ARC. Which means that much needed funds are not available to pay towards vet bills and food for the animals in ARC’s care. ARC is a small charity that covers a huge area, namely all the villages that are in the Vall de Pop, consequently the charity tries to answer calls for assistance with abandoned and cruelly treated animals. In addition, ARC provides food and veterinary care for 150 feral cats, therefore adding even more to the constant bills.

Income is at an all-time low for all charities, but if you are able to help either with a monetary donation or purchasing items, please see the following list of goods needed by the charity:

Mercadona - own brand adult dry food, own brand 'Gatitos' (kitten) dried food

Felix wet sachets and soft mousse tins

Soft fleece blankets

Cat litter

Scratch poles, toys and beds

If you can help by buying and/or donating any of the above this would be greatly appreciated. You can contact Sally on jalonvalleyarc2020@gmail. com or via the Jalón Valley ARC Facebook page. Alternatively call Carol Lockhart on 616 103 167 or email carol@eternal health.es.

ARC’S PayPal address is - jalonvalleyarc2020@gmail.com

Also, any donations, either monetary or items for cats or auction, can be left at Peretó estate agents, Jalón. Or we can arrange collection.

Thank you so much for your help and continued support for Jalón Valley ARC, which is greatly appreciated.

Sponsor a cat scheme

Would you like to sponsor one of Jalón Valley ARC's cats? We currently have 24 adult cats and four kittens in our care. Some of them will never find a home, we have a no kill policy so they will stay in our care until it’s time for them to go. As you can imagine the cost of food and medical care is huge.

Since Covid struck we had to let the shop go, which was our main source of income to maintain the cats in our care and enable us to carry on with the work we do. We do hold fundraising events, but unfortunately not as many as we used to.

There are several ways people can help us.

1. Sponsor a cat for just €10 a month (cost of five coffees)

2. Donate any unwanted and saleable items to us, so we can sell at local auction (not large furniture) 3. Adopt or long-term foster a cat

Please email Sally at jalonvalleyarc2020@gmail.com for further details, or you can see photos and details of the cats on the ARC Facebook page.

Rosa was found in an empty house. The owners had moved out and we think she was left behind. She has been with us for two years now, and is approximately 10 years old. She gets a little stressed around other cats and pulls her fur out, so she lives in a single pen. She is being treated for mouth problems and is having a monthly steroid injection and strong antibiotic. She is a lovely lady who likes a stroke on her terms. Because of her mouth problems Rosa has to have soft food, she likes Gourmet Mousse.
