O N T uesday, F ebruary 1 5 , we, yet ag ain, fished our winter v enue at E l B osq uet. H ig h winds made the fishing a little trick y but the weig hts in the main were q uite g ood.
W inner on the day was the local leg end that is Neil M cB ernie. I would back him ag ainst anyone on this v enue and he really does produce a masterclass week in week out. K ey to Neil’s success is without doubt his v ery accurate feeding with a catapult, whilst holding a long pole. H e inv ariable fishes ag ainst the far back with mag S g ots at this time of year and usually up in the water. T his he did once ag ain from peg 7 to catch 2 6 .2 4 k g of carp and mullet. P ictured is the famed end peg 7 at E l B osq uet.
S econd was another top ang ler inn H arry B illing . D rawn on unfancied peg 2 4 on the old back channel he caug ht carp and mullet on bread for 2 2 .1 8 k g .
In third place was mere mortal B ill C annon who caug ht carp mainly on the method feeder from fancied peg 1 for 1 3 .0 6 k g .
O ther section winners were J ack ie B reslin on peg 4 with 4.78kg,PaulBurton6.28kg from peg 2 7 , J ohn W aples 1 0 .5 8 k g peg 3 5 and leag ue leader, R ichard
mith with 1 1 .8 6 k g from peg 3 9 .
