U3A Vall del Pop hand out donations
U3A Vall del Pop used the occasion of its annual general meeting, on Thursday, March 3, at the Polivalent Murla, to make donations to four local charities. From their fundraising throughout 2021 the Goodwill Team gave €400 each to three local charities, selected by the members at the Christmas GA. These donations were received by Matt Mason on behalf of Jalón Valley ARC, Candy Wright on behalf of Help Marina Alta, and Tony Grande on behalf of Make a Smile. Each recipient thanked the members for their support and outlined the programme of their charity and how the donation will be used to help the cats and dogs, local community and children respectively.
The fourth charity to benefit at the AGM was Cáritas for whom a collection of toiletries was made so that it can continue its support of those in need in our community.
The full house of members who attended the AGM, some perhaps attracted by the scones with
jam and cream on offer (raising €140 for Goodwill charity fund) also voted in our committee for 2022:

Also the members wished Edward MacDonald (better known as Max) a happy 89th birthday for March 23.
Please do not forget to support all the Ukrainian refugees by donating any spare bedding/ sleeping bags, clothes/shoes, toiletries and tinned/ dried foods – use this year’s spring cleaning to select all those things we no longer need for people who are in desperate need. Please write on your parcel what it contains so that it can be easily distributed on arrival in the refugee gathering areas. Please bring your donations to the coffee morning on March 24, or the next GA, April 7.
