Barbarians win promotion to top division

-

IT was a great day for the Barbarians rugby club on Saturday as they gained promotion to division 1 of the Valencia rugby league.

They fought a very hard match against SanRo que of Valencia in the final play-off g ame to secure a memorable 41-3 victory.

With a large Den ia crowd getting behind the home team, the BaB as started strong ly and were nev er really troubled by the very physical and positive SanRo que pack.

Winning good set piece ball provided a platform for the three-quarters to play some open running rug by and score four tries before the half-time whistle.

Not to let up, the home team started the second half as they finished the first and continued in a positive vein, applying pressure on the SanRo que defence.

The Barbarians ended up comfortable 4 1 -3 winners and now look forward to playing in a much stronger league for the coming season.
