Save My Life 7
FOLLOWING the huge success of this event over the years, Benidorm Palace will once again be hosting the spectacular Save My Life 7 charity fundraiser in aid of Benidorm Dog Homing on Sunday, May 8.
Owner Christine Climent, an avid animal lover, was delighted to offer the venue to raise money to enable them to continue their work. Since the beginning of the pandemic the number of people abandoning their pets has spiralled, often due to costly vet bills. The money raised during this marathon charity day will be used to better the lives of the dogs in the shelter, many of which have been abandoned, abused and are sick. The funds will help by improving the conditions in which they live and they will receive the vital medical care and surgery they need until hopefully one day, they find their forever home.
This year the event has been sponsored by Tot d'Animals in
La Nucía and Royal Canine - a fantastic endorsement of the work they are doing in the community. The afternoon will be hosted by Tim Ames and Matt Fisher from Fresh Radio Spain, who will introduce the acts taking part – all of whom have given their time for free: Benidorm Bay City Rollers, The Rodfather, Ben Ashley, Little Mix, The New Overtones, The Blues Brothers Experience, tribute acts Take That, Erasure and Billy Joel, all in addition to a performance by Benidorm Palace resident illusionist David Climent. To raise additional money, David and friend Antonio Brown, owner of El Nui Bar in neighbouring Alfaz, will be embarking on a marathon 100km sponsored bike ride on May 3 – a mere month after completing their first 100km charity bike ride to raise money for Ukraine. Setting off at 09.00 from Benidorm they will cycle through Albir, Altea, Calpe, Benissa, Gata de Gorgos, Jávea, Benitachell, Moriara, Calpe, Altea, Albir and back to Benidorm with some pitstops along the way offered by generous bar owners.
Tickets for the fundraiser are priced at €10 and available from the box office – doors open 12.00
