Retired police officers meet up
THE ASSOCIATION of Retired Police Officers Costa Blanca South held their annual general meeting on Wednesday, April 13, at The Friends Bar, Los Montesinos.
Chair James Griffin and secretary Simon Todd welcomed 22 members, with 15 members staying for a very enjoyable ‘menu del día’ provided by the team at the bar.
During the meeting the chair highlighted that given the difficulties faced by many over the last two years as a result of the pandemic it was heartening that ARPO had managed to maintain a good level of members who were either living permanently in Spain or visiting from the UK now that restrictions had been eased. He added that goal for ARPO for 2022 was to look to try and grow the number of members and, just as importantly, to ensure that there are regular social events for members to attend throughout the rest of the year, as well as to support members should the need arise.
ARPO Costa Blanca South is open to any retired police officers or police staff from any country who either lives in Spain, or who visits the area
regularly. Meetings are held at The Friends Bar, Los Montesinos on the second Wednesday of each month, starting at 10.30, other than July and August. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 11.
The purpose of ARPO is to meet at regular intervals for social events, to offer support to its members and to facilitate contact and communication with retired police officers and staff who have either settled in and around the Costa Blanca or who visit the area regularly. ARPO also has a good relationship with a number of armed services associations that are based on the Costa Blanca.
