Jazz at the Parador hosts top musicians
THE BEST international jazz acts will be performing once a month at the Parador in Jávea until May.
The many jazz lovers living in Jávea and the surrounding areas have good reason to be happy, as the acclaimed Jazz at the Parador season returns for four concerts in the coming months.
The organisers have also forewarned music fans that the event will return in September following a break for the summer.
The programme leaves no room for doubt about the quality and variety that the season is offering and its commitment to present only the very best in jazz.
The inaugural concert takes place on Thursday, February 16, and will be by the International Classic Jazz All Stars – a group currently touring Spain that counts amongst its ranks the Californian guitarist Jonathan Stout, the British pianist Richard Busiakiewicz, and the French drummer Guillaume Nouaux.
On Friday, March 10, it will be the turn of the incendiary tenor sax duo of Ray Gelato and Enric Peidro - two musicians with extensive careers who are highly respected on the international swing scene. Gelato and Peidro will form part of a quintet which is set to bring high voltage music to Jazz at the Parador.
Next up on Friday, April 28, it is the turn of the acclaimed
North American vocalist Carole Alston, who will grace the Parador stage for the first time as part of her Spanish tour. After hearing Carole perform some of his compositions, Leonard Bernstein once commented: “My God, you are fabulous!”
The final concert before the summer break takes place on May 26, when it will be the turn of the Ellingtonia Jazz Ensemble – a group that has obtained great reviews for its excellent and careful reading of the music of the great Duke Ellington.
So there we have it, once a month the Bahía hall at Jávea Parador will become a welcoming jazz club where fans can enjoy the best music in a friendly environment, with limited capacity to ensure maximum comfort for the audience.
A bar service is also available.
Tickets for each concert are €18 and are available online from www.notikumi.com, or the venue box office.
All concerts start at 20.00. Jávea Parador is situated at Avenida del Mediterráneo, 233.
