Online courses for Torrevieja unemployed

A TOTAL of 10 new courses are being offered by Torrevieja local developmen­t agency (ADL) to unemployed people on the municipal register (padrón).

Councillor for employment and training Domingo Paredes has advised that, thanks to an agreement with local water company AGAMED, the courses will be free, online, and take place from March until June.

The councillor noted that, as with previous editions, the training courses respond to needs that have been identified in the town, and aim to improve the participan­ts’ chances of gaining employment.

The courses have space for a total of 160 people, and are aimed at people who are registered as being a jobseeker with the regional employment and training service, LABORA.

The courses are: Initiation to video editing for YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, 50 hours from February 27-March 10; swimming pool and tourist accommodat­ion maintenanc­e, nine hours from March 21-23; app developmen­t initiation, 50 hours from April 13-24; English for business, 60 hours from April 11-May 4; school dining room monitor, 20 hours from April 24-27; health and hygiene, 15 hours from May 8-10; food handling and allergy management for the hostelry sector, two five hour courses from March 20-May 8; initiation to artificial intelligen­ce programmin­g, 50 hours from April 18-May 3; swimming pool and tourist accommodat­ion maintenanc­e, nine hours from June 5-7; and English for the hostelry sector, 60 hours from May 15-June 2.
