Starting an association?
ELCHE city hall’s resident participation department has published a step-by-step guide to setting up an association.
Puri Vives said the initiative aims to promote active participation and that these organisations are necessary to help the municipality obtain a strong associative fabric and work to improve the quality of life of the population.
The guide is available in a digital format, as well as 500 physical copies which are available from the resident participation department at Plaza Menéndez y Pelayo, 2.
The councillor explained that in the area for which she is responsible – the municipal register of resident organisations – ‘we consider it important to promote associationism and the active participation of all residents’.
“The guide contains, in a clear and very simple way, all the information needed to enable those people who are interested to set up an association, simply by following eight steps,” added the councillor.
The councillor emphasised that in the guide’s 13 pages it
details, in a very graphic way, the requirements, forms, and addresses of where to go: from the preparation of the statutes and the first official meeting to the official confirmation from the municipal associations register and the application for the digital certificate of association on the regional government’s website or on the website of the Royal Mint of Spain (FNMT).
“We hope that this publication will be very useful for the population, and will help with the founding of new associations, which do a great job and are very necessary in helping Elche to be a great city with a strong associative fabric, which works to improve the quality of life of all residents,” she noted.
