U3A Marina Baixa has something for everyone

MEMBERS have had another busy couple of weeks, with more to look forward to this month. There will be Wine and Dine at Mister X on March 31, and the following day some will be taking part in La Nucía International Day. By joining U3A Marina Baixa you could also be taking part in a range of activities and events, as there are a variety of group activities taking place during the week.

On Sunday, March 5, a total of 10 members enjoyed a lovely afternoon stroll along Playa Torres, taking in the Hercules tower and a short climb up to the big cairn on the cliff top above the bay.

At the monthly meeting in February, all the money from the sale of raffle tickets on the day was used to help the victims of the Syrian earthquake, and on March 6 formula milk to the value of €310 was purchased to feed the babies and small children urgently in need in the country. Doctors from the Hispano Syrian association in Valencia, who work closely with the Syrian Embassy, assured the representatives from U3A that supplies would get through to the people.

On Friday, March 10, a group of 25 members boarded a coach in Albir to enjoy a day of shopping at La Nueva Condomina and IKEA with some of them taking the five-minute tram ride from the shopping centre into the beautiful city of Murcia. This was Marina Baixa U3A's first day trip this year and was certainly a lovely excursion, with everyone looking forward to further outings.

On Monday, March 13, the monthly picnic was held just outside La Cala, with stunning views of Finestrat and the mountains beyond in beautiful sunshine.
