Marina Alta Costa Blanca Floral Club
OUR next floral demonstration is on Thursday, March 23 when we are delighted to be welcoming NAFAS national/international floral artist, Mr Michael Bowyer, MBE, as our guest demonstrator. The title of the demonstration is 'Herald The Spring'.
Michael, who has been flower arranging since a child, when he used to arrange wildflowers in an egg cup or jam jar, turned professional in 1990 and has gone on to serve two terms as president of NAFAS. He regularly organises flower festivals in Salisbury Cathedral. He was involved in a television reality programme 'The Great British Village Show', when he was one of the judges of the floral art competition, with the final being staged at Highgrove, the home of our current King and Queen.
Michael says handling plant material is 'good for our mental health', so time spent watching this master craftsman at work will not only be an enjoyable afternoon of floral entertainment, but mentally we should all go home feeling refreshed and reenergised at the end of it.
The exhibits are raffled off at the end of the afternoon and some lucky winners will be leaving La Senieta with a beautiful arrangement. Our flowers, as always, will be supplied by Antonio and friends at Paichi garden centre.
We meet at the Salon de Actos, La Senieta,
Moraira (plenty of free parking in the large adjacent car park). The doors open at 14.15 and the demonstration starts at 15.00. We will also be making a donation to AFA Alzheimer, Teulada.
Entrance for members remains at €7 and for visitors €10. If you have never been to one of our floral demonstrations now is the time to come along and experience for yourself the joy of floral art. For this month we are offering free entry to anyone who has not been to one of our demonstrations before.
Members are reminded that the annual general meeting takes place at 12.00 that day (held in an upstairs classroom).
We look forward to welcoming you.
