CLOT DE GALVANY ANNUAL ACTIVITY CALENDAR
Until December 17: Clot de Galvany municipal nature reserve, situated behind Carabassí beach on the border of Gran Alacant and Arenales del Sol, free activities and events. Unless stated all activities are suitable for people aged 10 years and over.
Prior registration through the park website at https://clotdegalvany.es/ is essential. All activities are in Spanish.
May 14: World Migratory Bird Day, featuring a guided tour looking at migratory birds that visit the park
May 20: World Bee Day activities. Suitable for people of all ages
May 21: Natura 2000 Network and International Day for Biological Diversity celebrations, with a guided tour entitled ‘El Clot biodiversity centre within the Natura 2000 Network’ May 28: European Day of Parks commemoration, with a guided tour looking at the flora and fauna of the reserve June 4: World Environment Day, guided tour called ‘El Clot, flora and fauna refuge’ June 11: World Oceans Day celebrations with a guided tour looking at ‘life in the Clot, between sea and earth’
June 18: ‘The Clot against desertification and drought’, guided visit looking at ‘drought and floods, and the parks resistance to desertification’
June 23, July 7 and 21, August 4 and 25: Nocturnal life at the Clot, themed guided visit
June 30: International Asteroid Day, talk and workshop called ‘visitors from other planets’
August 11: ‘Perseids night’, astronomy observation August 18: ‘A stroll through the stars’, astronomy observation
September 17: ‘Clean the Clot, clean the world’ reserve clean up. Suitable for people of all ages
September 24: ‘Dragonflies and damselflies in the Clot’, themed guided visit October 8: World Bird Day celebration, with a ‘birds of the Clot’ themed guided visit October 15 and 22: ‘Cultural and historic heritage of the Clot’, guided visits
October 29: ‘Halloween at the Clot’, Halloween fauna workshops. Suitable for people of all ages
November 5, 12, 19 and 26: Voluntary re-vegetation work. Suitable for people of all ages December 17: ‘Christmas at the Clot’, festive craft and decoration workshops. Suitable for people of all ages
