Drought plan pub­lished

The re­vised drought man­age­ment plan for the River Se­gura basin area by the min­istry for the en­vi­ron­ment was put on pub­lic dis­play yes­ter­day (Thurs­day).

The re­vi­sion process has en­abled im­prove­ments to be made to the sys­tem of in­di­ca­tors which dif­fer­en­ti­ate be­tween droughts and wa­ter short­ages, plan joint mea­sures to mit­i­gate their ef­fects and es­tab­lish how these mea­sures will be ac­ti­vated and de­ac­ti­vated. The plan will be on pub­lic dis­play for three months for any­one to present their pro­pos­als.

In par­al­lel to this process, town halls in the Se­gura basin which gov­ern mu­nic­i­pal­i­ties with more than 20,000 in­hab­i­tants have been re­minded they have to re­vise or draw up their own drought plans, which must meet the re­quire­ments of the plan.
