Drought plan published
The revised drought management plan for the River Segura basin area by the ministry for the environment was put on public display yesterday (Thursday).
The revision process has enabled improvements to be made to the system of indicators which differentiate between droughts and water shortages, plan joint measures to mitigate their effects and establish how these measures will be activated and deactivated. The plan will be on public display for three months for anyone to present their proposals.
In parallel to this process, town halls in the Segura basin which govern municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants have been reminded they have to revise or draw up their own drought plans, which must meet the requirements of the plan.
