Of­fice clo­sure in­fu­ri­ates farm­ers

Al­moradí town hall has ob­jected to the clo­sure of the re­gional govern­ment’s agri­cul­ture of­fice in the mu­nic­i­pal­ity. May­oress María Gómez said the de­ci­sion will also have a se­ri­ous im­pact on Daya Nueva, Daya Vieja, Bene­júzar, Beni­jó­jar, Dolores, Ca­tral, Guardamar, San Ful­gen­cio, Ro­jales, For­mentera, Al­go­rfa and Los Mon­tesinos. The of­fice helps farm­ers to with all kinds of pro­fes­sional pro­ce­dures, in­clud­ing ap­pli­ca­tions for aid they are en­ti­tled to. Only this year Al­moradí town hall agreed to pay for the main­te­nance of the premises. She asked for the of­fice to be kept open and for recog­ni­tion of the very im­por­tant role played by the Vega Baja’s food and farm­ing sec­tor, par­tic­u­larly that of Al­moradí.
