CB Walkers in Polop

Costa Blanca News (North Edition) - - SOCIAL SCENE -

On Wednesday the CB Walkers enjoyed a jolly good ramble from Xirles, near Polop. Like many ex pat walking groups in Spain not all of us are fit enough to climb the high mountains, but fortunately there are many easier routes which offer fine views. One such area is the low wooded ridge which stretches inland from Xirles towards Guadalest. There is a network of tracks and paths which invite exploration - you need never do the same walk twice ! And clearings offer 'vistas' of the surrounding mountains, such as the Circuit of Sanchet in the photo.

After our ramble we had a social drink at a local bar that has become our HQ. Despite the addition of plastic cladding it is still known to us as the Wooden Hut, the proper name being el Sueno, meaning daydreams. How appropriate !

Join us for an easy ramble on Wednesdays or a harder walk on Saturdays. You will find details on our website www.costablancawalks.com You will be sure of a warm welcome from our small and friendly group.
