Ondara fair this weekend
Ondara's medieval market will go ahead this weekend after torrential rain forecasts led to it being called off. The final leg of the town's annual Fira de Fires – which roughly translates to 'Fair to end all Fairs' – was supposed to wind up on November 24 and 25, but will now take place over December 1 and 2. Although the fair has been held every autumn in its current format for 33 years, it actually dates back to the year 1690, making it one of the oldest on the Costa.
The morning motorbike rally organised by Ondara Custum Club, the food-tasting session in the El Prado square, the classic car and bike exhibition, food festival and fairground will also go ahead tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.
Residents and local visitors are pleased because it means the fair effectively goes on for longer.
