THE EXHIBITION about prehistoric cave paintings at the Alicante archaeology museum (MARQ), ‘Rupestre, los primeros santuarios’, has now closed having been visited by 85,063 people since it opened on July 5.

It contained more than 250 pieces from numerous national and local museums, bringing together unique pieces of the province’s heritage for the first time.

For the last two days of the exhibition, January 4 and 5, entry to the MARQ was free, which enabled about 1,4000 people to enjoy it at no cost.

The weekend was also the end of the ‘Plastihistoria’ exhibition, which recreated key scenes from the evolution and history of mankind, from the Stone Age to the era of globalisation, using figures made of plasticine.
