Better bus service for less

-

The new bus service contract for Callosa de Segura will not only save the town hall €50,000 per year but also increase the frequency of vehicles, add new stops and offer transport to the swimming pool in summer. Councillor for contracts Rubén Manresa of the United Left (IU) party explained the deal agrees to pay Grupo Alsa €36,000 per year, instead of more than €100,000 per year until now. He claimed the service would not suffer but actually improve as the new contract allows for routes to be extended and new special services to be introduced.

These include a new stop on both Calles Rambla Baja and Rambla Alta.

The service will be free for residents and will operate in the mornings on Monday to Friday, including 11 stops connecting the town centre with peripheral neighbourhoods.

The swimming pool service in the summer will run between July 1 and August 31 and there will also be a service to the cemetery on All Saints Day (November 1).
