Local authority administration made easy
Benejúzar town hall has set up a ‘single window’ service at which the public can present documents, and send and register letters and messages to any national, regional or local authority department. The ‘ventanilla única’ public service is a system of connected offices set up by the national and regional governments.
“The council has made a significant improvement to services, bringing the administration closer to the public, making procedures easier for residents and preventing unnecessary journeys,” explained councillor for municipal administration Vicente Cases. Mayor Antonio Bernabé said that joining the scheme means that residents will benefit from being able to present documentation at the town hall without having to leave the municipality, as the local authority will resend it to the appropriate administration by recorded delivery.
The town hall has also joined the ministry for the treasury’s online platform GEISER/ORVE which offers digital application forms for dealings with the town hall and other administrations as a way of reducing use of paper.
